Region Profile

Robina

Robina is one of the Gold Coast’s newer suburbs, developed in the 80s and particularly known for its shopping opportunities, and family friendly attractions. The area has grown steadily over the past 30 years, and continues to be a popular place for holidaymakers to stay and play within the Gold Coast.

Visitors travelling to Robina enjoy games and entertainment centres, cinemas, a number of pristine golf courses, as well as mini golf for families. Being in close proximity to other popular Gold Coast suburbs such as Miami and Burleigh Heads, visitors don’t have to travel far to experience all that the coastline has to offer, including swimming, surfing, kayaking and fishing. Also nearby are popular local theme parks; Warner Bros Movie World, Dream World, Wet ‘N Wild, and Sea World, which are only a short drive from Robina.

For visitors travelling to the area for its vast shopping opportunities, Robina Town Centre is one of the largest shopping centres on the Gold Coast and includes over 400 stores, including department stores, boutique shops, known brands, and a large food atrium for shoppers and foodies alike. Those looking for a more laidback holiday experience can enjoy the local lakes and parkland on offer in Robina, which include pet friendly areas and picnic facilities.

Robina has a total of 243 accommodation options and food services, which employ approximately 10.6 percent of the 50,580 people who call the area home. The area caters to a wide market of holidaymakers, with both budget and luxury accommodation options available. Visitors can choose to stay in a range of resorts, hotels, serviced apartments and motels at varying rates.

Both domestic and international visitors can access Robina by flying into the Gold Coast Airport. The airport is just a 20-minute drive from Robina, which is accessible by taxi, shuttle service, or car rental.

With temperatures averaging in the mid-20s all year ‘round, tourism remains at a steady pace throughout each season, particularly attracting domestic visitors from cooler states who are looking to play golf in fine, temperate conditions on one of the area’s immaculate courses.
