The State Tourism Satellite Account (State TSA) 2021-22 report reveals that tourism contributes significantly to Western Australia's economy. In 2021-22, tourism generated 89,000 jobs, accounting for 5.6% of the state's total employment. The tourism industry's value stood at $7.7 billion by Gross Value Added (GVA), equivalent to $8.7 billion by Gross State Product (GSP), contributing 2.2% of the state's total GSP. The majority (66%) of the tourism GVA was from intrastate overnight travel. Despite improvements, levels remain below pre-pandemic figures.
Given these promising signs of recovery, now is an opportune time to invest in a motel in Western Australia, either as an investment or as a lifestyle change for those considering a new career.
