The Preferred Supplier Programme was launched over 25 years ago in Australia as a platform to give the accommodation industry a source of reliable, proven suppliers. The Programme is coordinated on behalf of the accommodation industry to offer a reliable source of tried-and-tested suppliers, as the businesses that are included in the directory have been recommended by managers, for managers.

It is an extremely valuable tool for accommodation managers, as it allows managers to access industry specialists who are committed to the highest levels of service. This is extremely helpful for all accommodation providers but especially new managers, as it allows them to benefit from the positive experiences other managers have had with their suppliers.

What makes this unique programme truly essential for managers is that suppliers cannot simply pay to be included, as inclusion in the program is conditional on the supplier having received an industry recommendation. Not everyone is welcome, only those businesses who have been recommended by owners or managers in the accommodation industry as having provided top performance, fair pricing, sound work or products and overall total satisfaction.

To become a Preferred Supplier, the first step is for the business to receive a nomination from a property currently using their services. All nominations received are then qualified though a secondary questionnaire process to ensure that the supplier is committed the highest levels of service required and expected by managers, guaranteeing that they are committed to developing improved products and services for the industry.

Only after satisfying these criteria will the supplier be given the option to join the Preferred Supplier Programme, which includes:

- listing in the print directory (Resort News or Accom News)

- listing in the online directories at accomproperties.com.au and accomnews.com.au

- membership pack which includes digital versions of the Preferred Supplier logo that can be used in marketing material

The qualification process is repeated every 12 months, so managers and industry professionals can be confident in the service that Preferred Suppliers will provide.

New nominations are always welcome, so that the industry’s most comprehensive and reliable source of recommended products and services can continue to thrive.
