Domestic visitors can easily reach the area via Hervey Bay Airport, and international visitors can simply fly into Brisbane Airport and catch a connecting flight. International visitors from select countries will soon have the option to fly into the Sunshine Coast airport, with the Federal Government having approved a $181 million concessional loan for a new runway and terminal at Sunshine Coast Airport, allowing a $347 million international airport to be built over the next four years.
Hervey Bay is home to a range of accommodation options, including hotels and resorts, rentals and serviced apartments. It also has a large range of holiday parks for the many families that flock to the area during school holiday weeks.
