While this type of weather could impact tourism in some parts of Australia, Wodonga’s prime location on the Hume Highway means that it remains a popular place to stop and visit throughout the year.

While visitors typically drive into Wodonga, some choose to catch a domestic flight into Albury Airport which is less than a 15-minute drive from Wodonga’s city centre. Shuttle services operate to some hotels, and visitors can also choose to travel via taxi or hire a rental car from one of the many rental companies based at, or nearby the airport.

Accommodation providers in the area range from budget to luxury, providing plenty of choice for the many visitors who visit the area each year. Together with neighbouring city Albury, an average of 1,336,000 visitor nights are recorded each year, culminating an average daily expenditure of $124 per guest. 42 cents of each tourist dollar spent goes to the accommodation and food services sector.
