Expressions of Interest Opens for the new Darwin Convention Centre Hotel

The Expression of Interest for the Darwin Convention Centre Hotel is now open with six international hotel operators already interested in the project.

CBRE commenced market sounding for the investment opportunity last month and so far have received strong interest from both investors and hotel operators, including Accor, EVT, Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), Marriott, Radisson Hotel Group and Toga Far East Hotels (TFE).

The EOI is the first step in the competitive market process to secure a private sector proponent to build, own and operate a new hotel integrated with the Darwin Convention Centre.

The Darwin Convention Centre Hotel is expected to offer between 200 – 250 rooms, and provide new, upscale accommodation options for corporate and leisure visitors.

The Convention Centre Hotel development site is on Stokes Hill Road directly adjacent to the Convention Centre and offers spectacular views across Darwin Harbour and the Waterfront.

Experienced proponents interested in the opportunity can visit www.invest.nt.gov.au with the EOI open until 31 January.
