The Marlin Cove Resort Trinity Beach complex is an exclusive 4-star resort on Cairns’s northern beaches with excellent facilities and enormous potential.
Trinity Beach, located 30 minutes north of the Cairns Central Business District, is one of Cairns’ most popular beaches, lined with shady almond and coconut trees, and with a great selection of cafes and restaurants.
There are also plenty of free barbecues.
Tucked between two lush green headlands, it has a relaxed sea-side village ambience, with a golden crescent of sand, lapped by the blue waters of the Coral Sea. The World Heritage wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest are both nearby.
Calvin Bailey, of Calvin Bailey Management Rights, said the Marlin Trinity Beach Club had a very cooperative body corporate, excellent resort facilities, and that guests had a choice of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, most of which have been refurbished to a high standard.
“It’s a beautiful, popular property with extensive tropical gardens,” Mr Bailey said. “It’s in very picturesque surrounds.”
He said the Marlin Cove Trinity Beach Resort offered serenity in lush surroundings and with consistent profitability.
“This great mixed letting property and business is a credit to the current managers,” he said.
“Considerable upside exists with this property for astute management.”
Mr Bailey said the resort was “of a calibre that rarely comes to market” and that it was well priced by motivated vendors.
The resort is a short walk to shops and restaurants and the area also has a number of walking tracks, including the popular Earl Hill walking trail and the short but scenic Taylor’s Point at the southern end of the beach.
Located only 10 minutes south of Palm Cove, Trinity Beach is patrolled year-round with stinger nets present in the warmer months.
Mr Bailey described the resort as a “quality business”, and “consistent performer”.
It is priced at $1,755,536, and records a net profit of $276,384.
The body corporate salary is $214,761 and it is reviewed annually.
The two-bedroom, two-bathroom managers apartment is valued at $650,000. It has a patio area and pets are allowed.
There are 98 units in the complex with 34 in the letting pool, 10 of them permanent and 24 holiday apartments.
The complex has a pool, spa, sauna, tennis court, games room, barbecue area, pay-TV and WiFi.
Trinity Beach has a reputation as one of the quieter beach areas to stay in Cairns, without crowds of tourists or over-commercialisation.
But it is just 20 minutes from the Cairns International and Domestic Airport and 30 from the Cairns CBD.
The area is also served by a regular local bus from Cairns so there is no need for a car.
