Hervey Bay

Situated on Queensland’s stunning Fraser Coast, Hervey Bay is the perfect playground for guests and natural wildlife alike. Guests travel for the bay’s protected waters, which attract humpback whales, dolphins and other sea life, and provide young families with a safe place to swim and explore.

 

The bay is also well suited to a range of popular water activities, and visitors enjoy the opportunity to swim, dive, snorkel and sail in the bay. Fishing is also permitted in some areas, and specialised tours allow visitors the chance to set sail on local yachts and kayaks.

 

The outdoor lifestyle on offer in Hervey Bay is extended to visitors, who can enjoy the many local parks, play areas, picnic facilities and stunning bay views along the esplanade.

 

The esplanade is known not only for its views, but also for its food and beverage offering, with many visitors making use of the many restaurants, bars and cafes.

 

The region enjoys warm temperatures throughout the year, with cooler evenings in the winter months. The area welcomes tourists throughout each season, and experiences particularly busy periods over the summer months and various state school holiday weeks. Throughout the year, the region welcomes an estimated 1.4 million combined overnight domestic and international guests.

 

Domestic visitors can easily reach the area via Hervey Bay Airport, and international visitors can simply fly into Brisbane Airport and catch a connecting flight. International visitors from select countries will soon have the option to fly into the Sunshine Coast airport, with the Federal Government having approved a $181 million concessional loan for a new runway and terminal at Sunshine Coast Airport, allowing a $347 million international airport to be built over the next four years.

 

Hervey Bay is home to a range of accommodation options, including hotels and resorts, rentals and serviced apartments. It also has a large range of holiday parks for the many families that flock to the area during school holiday weeks.
