Busselton

Positioned in the picturesque Margaret River region in Western Australia, Busselton is a beachside city with sheltered swimming areas, carefully preserved national parkland, and a spirited atmosphere.

 

With activities such as swimming, fishing and whale watching on the agenda, it’s no wonder the area is a hotspot for tourism, drawing visitors from across Australia and around the world.

 

The 1.8-kilometre jetty is a favourite amongst both locals and tourists, and is also the location of one of the South Pacific’s most highly rates underwater observatories, where visitors can view fish, coral and other underwater life. For those who prefer to get in the water, the area is great for snorkelling, and equipment such as paddleboards, kayaks and scuba gear can be hired from local outlets.

 

The sheltered waters of Busselton are the perfect playground for sea life, and guests enjoy seasonal humpback whale sightings from June through to early December each year. Visitors can jump on board an organised whale watching cruise to get up close with the whales, or simply watch them from the many local lookouts along the coast.

 

Being located in the Margaret River region, guests not only enjoy all that the coast has to offer, but are also perfectly positioned at the gateway to the beautiful Margaret River wine region. As such, Busselton is known for its wine and dining, with plenty of popular establishments available to visitors. Regular farmers markets are also a favourite for local produce and wines.

 

Visitors to Busselton typically arrive by car or via Busselton Regional Airport. Domestic visitors can fly via a connecting flight from Perth Airport, which is just 40 minutes away by plane.
