Expressions of interest are called for provision of facilities and grounds maintenance and management services at the piece of paradise that is the Ecovillage at Currumbin Valley, located at 639 Currumbin Creek Road, Currumbin Valley, Queensland.

This unique fifteen-year-old residential development covers 270 acres and includes natural and regenerated forest and open spaces, 142 freehold lots, and over 20 different types of community facilities, including: a large community hall, commercial kitchen, library, pool, wood-fired pizza oven, BBQs, playground, Bali huts, recreation centre, residents workshop, mailroom, BMX track, waste recovery centre, multi-court and meeting rooms. The development is a designated wildlife refuge, with no dogs or cats permitted.

The development offers a large onsite office, lunch room, dedicated workshop, fuel tank and materials storage area (but no onsite accommodation). No reception duties are required. No letting rights or letting work.

The Caretaker will be an independent contractor of the Body Corporate. Tenderers are likely to have a company structure (or alternative legal entity) and employees and/or subcontractors. Must have own tools and equipment and public liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance, as required by Queensland law.

The objective for this tender is to implement a contract which:
• Ensures the development is managed in accordance with detailed management plans
• Satisfies high residents’ expectations and environmental concerns
• Provides best value for money with certainty of service quality

Management of considerable grounds is required, and parties experienced in environmentally friendly approaches are encouraged to apply.

Tender documents will be available by the 27th of May. The tender opens on the 30th of May and closes on the 24th of June. Briefing sessions and site visits are planned.
