 Taradale House Estate is an 1870's French Provincial-style homestead nestled in the heart of rural Victoria and sitting proudly on a hill overlooking a gently sloping valley leading to the serene Coliban River.

The property offers boutique accommodation, with five cottages and a barn available to book for an individual stay or guests can hire the entire property for their exclusive use. Taradale House is just off the Calder Highway between Melbourne and Bendigo, an hour’s drive north-west of the state capital.

But it is a million miles from the hustle and bustle of a big city, a unique retreat that provides an unforgettable stay in vibrant countryside, blending modern luxury with timeless charm in accommodation that is the epitome of elegance and comfort,

At Taradale, weddings become a two- or three-day spectacular with guests staying on-site. The property has five self-contained cottages and a barn, offering 17 bedrooms that are able to accommodate 37 guests. Tariffs range from $300 to $560 per night and there is occupancy of 88 per cent on weekends. The turnover was $371,309 for 2022/23 and the vendors are seeking offers above $4,000,000. 

According to Andrew Cronin from Tourism Brokers the property has untapped potential.

“It’s set on 9 acres [almost 4 hectares] and is already a very substantial property with luxurious accommodation,” he said, “but there is still a lot of room for expansion.

“There is already a wonderful collection of restored period buildings.

The Vineyard consists of Pinot Gris and Shiraz which will be ready to harvest in April 2024. The wine can be bottled and sold at the weddings with labelling to match.

“It’s a perfect venue for weddings, family get-togethers, conferences and work functions,” Mr Cronin said.

“There is no food on site and the catering is all contracted out so anyone that wants to purchase Taradale doesn't need a liquor licence or anything along those lines.

 “The contracts for those outsourced agencies are available to the successful buyer, and the staff are all trained and can run the place with the assistance of the purchaser if need be. 

“There is a great sense of history at the property, but at the same time the rooms have all been refurbished to the modern day era with all modern conveniences.

“It’s a fantastic business opportunity for someone who wants to get out of the rat race and run their own business amid beautiful scenery with amazing potential to grow the business further.”
